Some courses require assignments to be completed during the summer. This is especially true of AP courses where the preparation work may be extensive. Teachers provide this work to students before the close of school in June.
Each summer, a book is chosen for the entire school to read. This all-school read has broad themes and can be applied to a range of subjects. In the summer of 2020, we read “Left to Tell” the true story of Immaculee Ilibagiza, a survivor of the Rwandan Genocide of the 1990s. Her journey of faith and forgiveness is inspiring. On the first day of school, students spent time in small groups working with teachers to discuss the themes of this extraordinary story.
The book for Summer 2021 will be announced in June.
